Embry-Riddle President John P. Johnson honored IFG’s Chairman, Oscar Garcia, with the ERAU Alumni Eagle of Excellence Award during the reception that the University hosted in Orlando last week. This event was held in order to gather all the alumni attending the NBAA Convention, and to nominate that ERAU graduate of outstanding professional accomplishments. The name of the recipient of this award to excellence was kept as a secret by the university until the moment of the announcement. Oscar Garcia was immensely surprised and grateful by the recognition. “I’m deeply touched and honored to have received this award, which came as a surprise to me. My involvement with the University goes beyond my personal and professional interests and it really aligns itself with my desire to give back to the school, students and all stakeholders in the aviation and aerospace industry. My most sincere gratitude goes to the directors of the University, faculty, and alumni who have decided to give me this honor. Thank you” Oscar Garcia states. The IFG team was also really excited about this unexpected tribute. They all are pleased with the results of his knowledge, experience and hard work. Oscar Garcia’s wife, Yvette Garcia says “As part of the IFG team we have supported Oscar in his activities and involvement with the University, the College of Business and the faculty and it was wonderful to be able to celebrate this honor with the InterFlight Global team, we are all very proud of his accomplishment”.
